This C-type was constructed in 1985 to the highest level of quality, with a C-type tubular frame finished in stove enamel, adjustable Spax shock absorbers, and aircraft lines and fittings.

It is a very early Jim Marland Proteus C-Type with aluminum center tub, hand laid GRP bonnet and deck, correct single door and taillights.

Jaguar originally built just 53 C-Types, plus a prototype- XKC054. Proteus began constructing cars in 1985, making this one of the earliest examples. Proteus C-Types are considered to be the highest quality and most accurate recreations of these beautiful and powerful automobiles.

This authentic recreation is registered for road use as a 1952 Jaguar XKC055. Superbly finished in Brooklands Racing Green with black leather. Very seldom offered in the U.S.

Est. 300hp, balanced, blueprinted, gas flowed heads, competition pistons, cams, heavy-duty valve springs, silicon bronze valve guides. 45 DCOE side-draft Weber carbs, stainless steel competition exhaust. Competition oil cooler, coolant recovery system, manual electric fan.

Equipped with 16-inch wire wheels with new Dunlop Racing tires. Other correct details include leather bonnet straps, Connolly leather seats, Moto-Lita four-spoke wood rim wheel, full-width plexiglass screen with two Brooklands aero screens, tonneau cover, Le Mans type fuel filler, aircraft style lap belts, Smiths instruments, battery cut-off switch and new fire extinguisher.
