Vintage Racing Services is dedicated to providing superior quality trackside and rally support. To this end, we have spent years improving maintenance and track support systems to eliminate the bugs. We maintain and carry an extensive trackside spares inventory, supply trackside shelter, lunch and beverages. We do our best to make your vintage racing experience as much fun and as stimulating as possible.



In addition to trackside service, Vintage Racing Services has considerable experience supporting historic rallies. Our crews have attended events around the world. We have restored and prepared cars for the varied challenges of U.S. rally format events, European Classic Rally events, events in mainland China & Mexico’s famous La Carrera PanAmericana.

The records of the cars we prepare speak best for our capability in this arena. VRS prepared cars have participated successfully in numerous rallies & have compiled one of the most winning La Carrera PanAmericana, records.

Vintage racing services offers the driver development and coaching to help you get the most out or your racing experience. We are available for pre event or stand alone practice days wherever and whenever you choose. We offer a staff of experienced driver training professionals to work with you and your car, or one of our rental race cars. Please call for details.

We have also learned the "lay of the land" for numerous events and are happy to help with accommodation, recommendations, and advice. We handle event entries and sanctioning body interface activity for our customers. We have a good rapport with the various groups and can often get special requirements handled. Service is our business. If there is something you require not detailed here, please ask. You will find us flexible and accommodating.

SCHEDULING AND ATTENDANCE

We try to service all the events our customers choose to attend. We mail an annual questionnaire to allow us to determine demand and plan events.

ENTRIES & ACCOMMODATIONS

We undertake event entries and accommodations. A service fee of 5% is applied to offset the cost of this service. If you prefer to do your own entries, please fax/e-mail us copies so we know the details.

Note: Those planning to attend the Monterey Historics must request their own entries from General Racing (you can call us for the address and phone number) in January of the year they plan to attend.

SINGLE CAR & LOW PARTICIPATION EVENTS

Support at lightly-attended events is not economically viable for us at our normal rate. Events with two vehicles attending will be invoiced at a higher-than-normal per-car-per-day rate. Events with one car attending will be handled by a single technician without a helper at higher day rates.

QUANTITY DISCOUNTS

We offer discounts for single-driver, multi-car participation. These cannot be applied at low- participation events for obvious reasons. The discount structure is:

2nd Car - 10% Off Full Rate
3rd Car - 15% Off Full Rate

RATES

We charge on a per diem basis, with a surcharge for Enduros on a per-race-hour basis. Additionally, we invoice setup time, travel expense, and out-of-pocket travel and accommodation expenses. “Out of pocket” expense is shared equally among the group of customers attending a given event. EVENT DURATION

We define "the event" as the period of time the sanctioning body (HSR, SVRA, SCCA, HMSA, FIA, etc.) includes at no additional charge for your entry fee. It is not possible to bill you for only the days you are able to attend a given event. We support pre-event practice days, but must know well in advance if you plan to attend. We invoice for the complete event even if you are unable to attend all the days of the event..

CANCELLATIONS

We plan staff, book non-refundable tickets, arrange and often pay for hard to find accommodations well in advance. Last minute changes cause financial and logistical hardships. We cannot accept cancellations less than 15 days from the starting date of an event. We must invoice for all event charges should you cancel within the 15 day window.

STAFFING

Our per diem support fee buys approximately 50% of a technician’s time, our collective expertise, the full team for emergency reapirs, and a helper(s)' time for cleaning, fueling and the like.

HOSPITALITY

We set up a tent compound and trailer top observation deck. We provide space under the tent for your car and yourself. Lunch, trackside beverages, and a tented "living room" for friends and family are all part of our inclusive trackside hospitality.




DRIVING GEAR

We set up a "locker room" at all events in one of our trailers. We transport and care for gear, helmets, medical forms, log books, and other incidentals. We launder & maintain gear between events.

DRIVER TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

Rates vary with consideration of instructor(s), location, vehicle specification, and duration of training/coaching sessions. Please call for clarification and details.

ENDUROS

Races over 30 minutes require pit stops, added staff, and added maintenance. This equates to later nights with added personnel to assure that we can take care of everyone properly. A surcharge per enduro hour is added to cover the extra effort. Please see our seasonal update for up-to-date rate information.






CREW PRESERVATION

Providing support, operating the shop, and getting to the races can unduly tax a crew. There is always more to be done. We need to balance this reality with the need to get through the weekend, next week, and the season, healthy, alert and attentive. We limit the support-day to 7:30 am - 6:00 pm for this reason.

HOLDOVER

Holdover applies when two events fall one week apart, such that it is most efficient to hold the crew in the locale and have them prepare the cars for the next weekend without a trip home.




Should this occur, we invoice interim living expenses for the crew on an at-cost basis.

SPARE PARTS/TOOLS

We load, carry, and care for specific vehicle spares boxes, wheels, tires, spare engines, and other components. Two 4-to-5-square-foot boxes per car and one set of wheels per vehicle is the norm. We can accommodate larger spares loads by arrangement. When a car needs a very special tool or two, we ask that you own it and keep it with your spares. We inventory and restock after each race as part of the post-race check, and bill for our time as part of post-race service.

MATERIALS, PARTS & SUPPLIES

We bring it all, including tools, fluids, fasteners, wipes, and the like. If you require Castrol R or other such special material, we ask that this become part of your vehicle spares kit.

RELEASES

As a condition of caring for any race car, we require signed releases for both Vintage Racing Services Inc. and Automotive Restorations Inc. Racing is inherently a dangerous activity. We cannot make any exceptions to our release requirements.

PAYMENT

All invoices are due and payable on receipt. We accept payment by cash, check, credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express), wire transfer, and bank debit card.
